Kefen I Budji
Kefen is creative, easy-going, and passionate about using communication and edutainment as tools of empowerment and voice. She has over 14 years’ experience serving as a resource person, consultant, facilitator/ trainer, teacher, tutor, and writer/ journalist in organizations mostly targeting children, youth, and women/girls.
Focusing on the fields of education and research, community development, reproductive health, and art/media, she has worked with organizations/ programmes like Education for Life (Cameroon), BASDEC (Cameroon), La Liberté Arts Group (Cameroon), Sama’s Care (Cameroon), WVED (Cameroon), Dance4Life Int’l, Smiling Faces Int’l (Liberia), KPAAM-CAM (Cameroon, USA, Italy), School Stories (USA), and the Notre Dame Writing Center (USA). Kefen is also an alumna of the Mandela Washington Fellowship (the flagship programme of the U.S. Government’s Young African Leaders Initiative), and the Chevening Scholarship (funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office). Likewise, she is a Fellow at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies (USA), and a member of the West African Research Association (USA).
She holds an MSc in Anthropology from CATUC (Cameroon), MA in Cross-Cultural Communication and Media from Newcastle University (UK), and MA in Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame (USA), where she currently pursues a PhD in Anthropology minoring in Peace Studies.
