Holistic Education

Hands-on Sessions through Holistic Education

We equip children and adolescents, through educational and entertaining sessions, with practical skills and examples of how to transform learned knowledge into concrete deliverables. Our age-specific training, workshops, mentorship programs, games, and/or competitions, among others, are avenues through which children and adolescents can learn from and engage with one another, and network with experts in various life skills especially those mostly unavailable in more formal education. Counselling

We build and work with a team of professional counselors to provide educational and mental health counseling and support to children and adolescents. The trained counselors we work with provide in-person and online counseling to children and adolescents through appointments at the centre, or through emails and phone calls. Library

Wings provides links to online resources as an avenue for accessing diverse kinds of educative information in various formats, especially for children and adolescents who have limited access to formal education. We also provide a moving physical library during events with teams of children and adolescents. In addition, we run age-specific literacy clubs for children to facilitate mastery of especially the four major skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Media and Communication

Media Clubs

Our media clubs promote accessible and responsible/ethical use of media. In Cameroon, where youngsters often have limited access to varied communication means before university, there is grave need to provide skills and avenues through which they can encounter information, resources, trainings, mentors, and/ or career opportunities, especially considering that we live in the Information Age, where the virtual is increasingly as real/concrete as the physical. We thus partner with schools (from primary through high school), orphanages, youth centres, and other organizations where young people congregate, to set up media clubs. Production Facility (Cross)

Our production facility aims at generating and/or disseminating age-specific media products and other forms of art based on our foundation and values, as a means of fostering holistic education and community engagement. Growing from the reality that children usually learn, and form opinions influenced by various media they are exposed to, and considering the near omnipresence of media which affect us in varied ways, the production facility works with our media clubs and other partners to create and disseminate media which reflect Cameroonian cultures and realities, while making room for others (Provide a link to specific activities…see attachment)

Community Engagement

Outreach Programmes

Our outreach programmes enable us to partake in community programmes as a way of assisting and adding value to the community. Together with the children and adolescents we are in contact with, we partake in – and identify, plan, and carry out – outreach programmes that address major needs in the community especially among its more vulnerable members (e.g., orphans, girls, and people with disabilities). Charity Home

We build and nurture our Charity Home so that it can be an available reservoir to help those in need in the community. Donations of all kinds that are received are properly stored for outreach programs, and for community members especially children and adolescents in need of these resources.
